The Yorktown Police Department announced the arrests of Mohegan Lake residents Emma Lineau, 16, and Alexandra Pujol, 17, on Monday.

The two face first-degree falsely reporting an incident charges --  a Class D felony -- for their roles in making a threat in the bathroom that forced a school-wide evacuation.

A Lakeland High School resource officer reported the bomb threat shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 1, saying that it was written on a wall in a girls bathroom at the high school, police said, which was allegedly written by the two teens. The discovery of the threat led to the evacuation and a subsequent search of the school by Westchester County Police canine units, which revealed no explosive devices.

As a result of the continuing investigation, police said that Lineau was arrested outside her Amazon Road residence on Monday morning. Pujol later surrendered herself into police custody at Yorktown Police Headquarters.

Following their arraignments, the two teenagers were released on their own recognizance and are due back in Yorktown Justice Court later this year to answer the charges.
